It is those with money and power can, over time, pull whatever levers they want. This is one reason why, here in the United States, Congress is so important. The separation of powers keeps everybody in check. Or at least it's supposed to.
This move is out and out censorship. If you only hear one side of the story, you can't make informed decisions. And if the one side you're hearing is propaganda being sponsored by the owners of the stations, there is nothing to base your decisions on but their view. This is just further proof that most of the country is not only owned by the 1% but now they want to own your minds as well. BEWARE where you get your news!

There’s a great Substack called ‘Decoding Fox News’, and I found her through retired FBI agent’s Substack Frank Figliuzzi and Lincoln Square podcast. I wish someone covered the psychological techniques of persuasion on “State Media”. Dr Hassan covers some persuasion techniques occasionally.
I'll check it out, Becky. Thanks for sharing. But I gotta be honest, I'm not even that interested in decoding anything Fox News does. It showed me long ago what it's all about.
It’s a good way for people to learn psychological persuasion from what’s called psychological distance. It helps people recognize things in an out-group so then they can spot it in their close contacts where they are most susceptible & vulnerable to persuasion/manipulation. Low level MAGA followers are susceptible because of authoritarian parenting style and see Trump as familiar unconsciously and therefore the brain recognizes familiarity as safety.
I also use movies to teach people to spot manipulation and psychopathy, but Fox News is a master class chuck full of psychological manipulation tactics. The two introductory movies that I recommend is the entire Top Gun movies series and Pretty Woman. Prince Charming in Snow White is another. If people can spot manipulation and abusive people in these classics, they be so much safer in their personal & work lives.
