Zero wins. Twenty-three defeats. And the Justice Department still wants your date of birth, your driver's license number, and your Social Security digits.
I wanna think, since Doge accessed every single bit of every American's personal information that they would already have it, and they would have spread it around and shared it, but they're too stupid to know what they even had..
The doge was the biggest piece of criminal activity. Maybe in the last 20 years.
There are so many issues to think about. For me, it's the Trump family crypto grift. It's really unbelievable when you look at the numbers and how it went down and continues to develop.
Counselor, Would it be possible for you to write an article summarizing the legal framework surrounding a Presidential Pardon or Grant of Clemency?
It is likely that many, if not most, of Trump's minions will claim that he has issued them a pardon for any actions during Trump's term. How will we know whether those claims are valid? The process for Presidential pardons and grants of clemency is administered by a DoJ Office of the Pardon Attorney. The DoJ, under AG Todd Blanche, has dispensed with even the appearance of being independent of Trump. Even more troubling, the U.S. Pardon Attorney is none other than Ed Martin. Given the ease with which Artificial Intelligence can be used to generate fake records, fake pictures, and fake videos, and given the conduct of Todd Blanche and Ed Martin, would it be possible for a future DoJ to challenge the legitimacy of a claimed Presidential pardon on the grounds that the Trump Regime's conduct has disproved the presumption of regularity for any of its decisions and/or documents?
I'll put it on my calendar, but there are so many breaking news stories that it's almost a bit overwhelming for my team and me to stay on top of things. If you're not already connected with or following Liz Oyer, make sure to do so. She covers a lot of these issues in her videos.
Thank you for spelling out the significance of this seemingly dry issue. I am not sure that a data-base is wrong. What is wrong, however, is the usurpation of legislative over-sight powers arbitrarily to re-write an already gutted law intended to protect beleaguered minority voters. While such a data-base arguably makes sense, it would almost certainly be abused by the rogue Trumpanzee out of control and the marionettists who control his policies.
I'll tell you what, Ned: we need to thank Mark Elias and his team of lawyers and other lawyers across the country who are in the trenches litigating these cases and getting the favorable verdicts. So damn impressive.
Hopefully, like you, these gentlemen and ladies recive due praise for defending republicanism and the rule-of-law when the chips down. People like you give me hope that right shall win and trump and his wrong-doers are called out, taken down, and ground into toxic waste.
There may be legal recourse, but the time, attention, and money to make it happen might offset whatever your goal would be. I say that in that most of our information is out there anyway, so I'm not sure I'd recommend expending time and resources turning back the clock on this. Just my own practical point of view. Now, if we vote back a majority in Congress of Democrats, they may be able to enact new laws, rules, and regulations that would rescind, destroy, and/or return data to Americans. That would be the easiest way to go. We'll see what happens.
My question exactly. Our "esteemed" Secretary of State here in Ohio, Frank LaRose, gave away our personal information without a whimper (or permission) when Trump asked for it several months ago
That made me angry too. Why don’t Americans have a say over our own privacy? I get it. We barely have any privacy anymore. Even laws against going off the grid.
We have little privacy left. Once I finished researching and writing my book Privacy in America, I felt sick to my stomach. https://mitch-jackson.com/privacy
Fantastic. I'm so glad it resonated with you. I'm going to start doing more of these short videos on specific topics just because I think it's important. I'm taking what people are emailing me and sending me DMs about, and then, depending on how current the issue is, I'll be doing a video or writing a short post here on notes and a longer post over in my articles.
Thanks for reminding us how critical this issue is to preserving our democracy. Clearly an authoritarian attempt by the Trump administration to manipulate our election system. The fact they are 0-23 and still trying says it all about their intentions.
Yup, it really does. Imagine being so determined to get your way that you filed 23 losing lawsuits to try to accomplish that goal. Honestly, it just shows what a bunch of losers they are.
Corrupt across the board.

Excellent Marc Elias Group... keep making them choke on their losses.
Thks mitch
Marc has the right approach. He keeps sticking it in their eye, and I love it.

What if we belong to one of the red states which already handed all our data to Trump? Can we get it back?

Hopefully, doing so will be the end of their political or elected career.
Not a chance. He's now running fot State treasurer against a no -name Dem.
Florida, too.
Wasn't there just a big arrest in Florida with a high-profile Republican official being charged with sex crimes involving minors?
Yep. In Palm Beach County ('rump's home base) no less: https://www.wptv.com/news/palm-beach-county/palm-beach-county-clerk-of-court-arrested-faces-charges-of-child-sexual-abuse

Excellent and fair legal analysis. And clear policy explanations. thank you Mitch. Restacked and will share as well.

LOVED: "...courts are telling DOJ, talk to the hand..." apparently, ad nauseum! Thanks, Mitch!
I was hoping someone would pick up on that. Just thinking about that makes me smile. Hey, counselor. Talk to the hand.
