Senator Rick Scott built a fortune running the company that committed the largest health care fraud in American history at the time, then walked away with roughly ten million dollars in cash, three hundred million dollars in stock, and a cushy consulting deal while his company pleaded guilty to fourteen felonies and paid one point seven billion dollars in fines.

He (like Bryan Donalds, GOP candidate for Florida governor) tell their sad tale of growing up very poor, no money, with single mothers. They claim they will take care of the needs of the poor. All they learned from their experiences was to get rich no matter what, take the money without concern for who gets hurt. Donalds has been learning from Scott and from many other Republicans (Trump, Abbott, etc.). Neither Scott nor Donalds can be trusted at all. If you care about health care, social security and public well-being don't let these guys get anywhere near where they can influence law-writing and passage, nor use and disbursement of funds.
And why, on God's green earth, are people allowed to take the 5th anyway? They should be required to tell the truth, the whole truth or nothing but the truth or face possible perjury charges, that should include a huge fine and required jail time.

The double standard in the world, as evidenced in the courts has seemingly always been present, and in favor of those with the most money or in favor of those whose defendants had a similarly-colored jury. So the unfairness in the world is nothing new, but when the corruption and hypocrisy is openly thrust in our faces, in the specific form of enforcing a rule of law that they do not apply to themselves and when they are openly trying to reduce our share of our birthright, or in an attempt to destroy our democracy, they are arousing the very thing they worked so long and hard to divide - the unification of The People!
Personally, I'd like to hear about any and all cases where justice is upheld, blindly, as it's supposed to be, regardless of party affiliation, so The People can still cling to the idea that justice is still blind. The country needs that kind of news right now, especially with the present Administration and SCOTUS we have, or I fear there will be another Boston-Tea- Party-kind-of uprising.
