Senator Rick Scott built a fortune running the company that committed the largest health care fraud in American history at the time, then walked away with roughly ten million dollars in cash, three hundred million dollars in stock, and a cushy consulting deal while his company pleaded guilty to fourteen felonies and paid one point seven billion dollars in fines.
You could compare his pleading the fifth to Dr Fauci’s recent pleads. One is protecting himself from witch hunting attacks based on political weaponization. The other is against self incrimination of which he is most certainly guilty.
There are some of us Floridians who have never believed or supported Rick Scott. He’s just another shyster like the products from Mar-A-Lago. I’ve been here over 45 yrs. and have come to the conclusion: Florida sure attracts them, doesn’t it!! 🤪
Every time I think or hear about this it makes my blood boil. As a Floridian I lived through every day if Rick Scott's governorship. He was awful... everything bad you can imagine from a pro-corporation, pro-billionaire Republican. He destroyed much if what had been previously accomplished to protect our environment and to control undesirable over-development. He represents the " two steps back" of every struggle. He campaigns with his story of knowing poverty, of growing up poor with a single mother, but he governs like a money-grubbing politician who swore hr would never be poor again and would do whatever it takes to be rich. He is a despicable man who photographs well. Do not be fooled!
If ever there was a criminal who 'got away with it', it's this man. No wonder he aligns himself so closely with the present administration. And Florida seems to not really concern itself with it. He's been in elected office as governor and then senator since 2011. I will never understand people who constantly vote against their best interests.

Disturbing how Americans have placed their trust in such elected officials. So many of them. Thin veneer of civility and even thinner for justice.

It's embarrassing to live in Florida right now. Even tourists are avoiding the place, with good reason.
