He Had One Job
On Friday a reporter asked President Trump what he thought of New York’s governor appointing Attorney General Letitia James as special prosecutor in the Cornell fraternity rape case. That question handed him a clean chance to remind America that our courts exist for exactly this kind of moment and to say a few decent words to a young woman who says seven fraternity brothers drugged and attacked her inside their house.
He could have responded, “My heart goes out to that young woman, and I trust our prosecutors and courts to get to the truth, and every young man in America should hear this from me: a real man protects women and steps in the moment he sees something like this.”
Instead, he used the moment to attack the prosecutor and support the men. “Letitia James is a corrupt person,” he said. “She’s totally corrupt... I feel badly for whoever she’s looking at, because they won’t get a fair shake.”
His response surprised no one, and that is the point of this post. America has lost its way on how men treat women, and it starts with the example he sets from the Oval Office and spreads through every man who watches him do it and says nothing. Here’s the full transcript of that conversation.1
Having said that and for context, here’s what we know. The young woman says members of the fraternity drugged and assaulted her for more than four hours in October 2024, and her lawsuit says one of them sent a Snapchat message that appeared to invite other members into the room. From what we know, not a single man in the fraternity who who received the message or knew what was going on stopped what was happening.
The Tompkins County district attorney has now reopened the investigation. When a reporter asked about the case, the civilly adjudicated sexual abuser in the Oval Office found sympathy for one side of that room, and of course he picked the wrong side.
When the most famous man in America pities the accused and ignores the victim, every boy and man watching takes notes.
He has been teaching that lesson for years.
What the Juries Decided
Nothing about this comes as a surprise. A wolf in sheep’s clothing will always side with the wolves.
A Manhattan jury convicted Donald Trump on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to hide a $130,000 hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels during his first run for the White House. That conviction stays on his record as his appeals grind forward.
A federal jury in 2023 found him liable for sexually abusing writer E. Jean Carroll in a Manhattan department store dressing room in the middle of the 1990s and for defaming her, and a federal appeals court upheld that $5 million verdict in full. He took his fight to the United States Supreme Court. The justices refused to hear the case. He paid.
In the Carroll case, federal Judge Lewis A. Kaplan found that “the proof convincingly established, and the jury implicitly found, that Mr. Trump deliberately and forcibly penetrated Ms. Carroll’s vagina with his fingers, causing immediate pain and long lasting emotional and psychological harm.”
Kaplan drove the point further. He wrote that the jury’s no answer on the rape question “means only that the jury was unpersuaded that Mr. Trump’s penis penetrated Ms. Carroll’s vagina. It does not mean that he did not forcibly insert his fingers into her, that he ‘raped’ her in the broader sense of that word.”
Then, in a separate ruling on August 7, 2023, Kaplan dismissed Trump’s counterclaim against Carroll. In that opinion, the judge wrote that the jury’s verdict “establishes, as against Mr. Trump, the fact that Mr. Trump ‘raped’ her, albeit digitally rather than with his penis. Thus, it establishes against him the substantial truth of Ms. Carroll’s ‘rape’ allegations.”
Read that again. A federal judge found, on the record, that Carroll’s claim that Trump raped her is substantially true
A second jury ordered him to pay Carroll $83.3 million for defaming her from the White House in 2019. The appeals court affirmed that award as well, pointing to his nonstop attacks on her even after the first jury ruled against him, with interest stacking up every month he asks the Supreme Court for one more look. I wrote about all this last March. See A Federal Judge Found That Donald Trump Raped E. Jean Carroll
The Tape
Let’s never forget about the Access Hollywood tape, recorded in 2005 and made public a month before the 2016 election. Every parent remembers it. On that recording, a grown man who later became president bragged to Billy Bush about pursuing a married woman, telling him, “I did try and fuck her. She was married,” and adding, “I moved on her like a bitch.”
He said he feels automatically drawn to beautiful women and starts kissing them, “like a magnet.” Then he delivered the line that still makes normal human beings wince: “Grab ‘em by the pussy.” Here’s the transcript.2
A Pattern at Home
His marriages follow the same script of a complete lack of respect for women, even those he promised to love and obey. He cheated on his first wife with his second, got her pregnant while still married, then cheated on his second wife with his third. The same month his son was born with his third wife, he had a well documented affair with a Playboy model, Karen McDougal, that lasted ten months. Just four months after his last son was born, while Melania was home taking care of their newborn son, he cheated again, with porn star Stormy Daniels at a celebrity golf tournament at Lake Tahoe. The money paid to keep both women quiet sits on the public record.
From the Podium to the Workplace
He calls Letitia James, a Black woman who won a civil fraud case against him in a New York courtroom before an appeals court tossed the money penalty, corrupt and “a real slob.” When Bloomberg reporter Catherine Lucey pressed him about the Epstein files, he pointed his finger at her and said, “Quiet, piggy,” and his White House defended him. He insults female reporters and politicians almost weekly, and our sons hear every word.
Boys learn how to treat women by watching the men some cheer for, and right now too many Americans cheer for the wrong man.
What Real Men Do
This convicted felon in the Oval Office has dragged this country back 100 years on how men should treat women. Real men don’t need to insult or disrespect a woman to feel strong.
Picture a young man in that fraternity house that night, watching the Snapchat message light up his phone, then walking straight to that door and planting himself between those brothers and that young woman before anyone laid another hand on her. Then he calls 911.
Strength looks like a young man walking into that room and stopping it before anyone else gets hurt. It doesn’t come from someone discounting what’s happening or intentionally looking the other way.
Young men learn that kind of courage by watching the men above them. They watch their fathers and their coaches. They watch the man at the podium too, and right now, the guy in the White House teaches them to sneer at women and shrug at their pain.
Better men leading out front over the last 10 years might have changed what happened in that room.
So talk to the boys in your life today about what a real man does when that message hits his phone, and share this with every parent who wants that kind of man at the top.
The guy in the White House isn’t him, and he never has been.

Trump: “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful... I just start kissing them.”
Trump: “It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. (Laughing)”
Billy Bush: “Whatever you want.”
Trump: “Grab them by the pussy.”

There’s a saying going around…

And let’s start with the President…
Yes… in my life time in this country Trump is one of the very worst of the purely evil humans to live
