Donald Trump stood in front of a crowd this week and lied again to the country that schools are secretly shipping children off for gender-affirming surgery behind their parents’ backs.
It doesn’t happen.
He say’s “it’s sick.”
You know what’s sick? The President of the United States lying to the people he took an oath to protect over and over again.
But his lies are nothing new. It’s what this guy does.
Fact-checkers documented more than 30,000 false or misleading claims in his first term alone, and the number has increased daily during of his second term.1
With respect to his unauthorized gender-affirming surgeries story, he’s been pushing this story over and over on the 2024 campaign trail, and now because his numbers are at a historic low before the midterms, he’s pushing it again this week. Every single time fact-checkers look into it they rate it false, because there is no child, no school, and no surgery anywhere behind the claim. He knows it. He says it anyway.
Zero Evidence From Anyone
Reporters asked the Trump campaign for proof. When his prior press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, was asked in September to back up her boss, she had nothing to give. Independent investigators went looking on their own and came back with the same nothing. Snopes found no evidence of any child receive a sex-change operation or gender-affirming surgery at school. CNN fact-checkers went further and contacted several conservative parental rights groups, organizations with every motive in the world to find a case, and those groups failed to name a single school anywhere in America that ever arranged surgery for a student. The file is empty.
The Law Slams This Door Shut
Completely unrelated to schools, even in states where gender-affirming surgery is legal for people under 18, a parent has to sign consent before a minor goes anywhere near an operating room. The president of the National Association of School Nurses said school nurses need explicit permission from a physician and a parent before handing a child an Advil or a Tylenol. Surgery takes a hospital and a surgeon, anesthesia and signed insurance approval, along with consent forms a parent has to put their name on, and a child who vanished from class for three days and woke up in a recovery room would set off missing-child reports and a police investigation within hours. The lawsuits would leave a paper trail a mile long. None exists.
Look, if we want to have a conversation about gender-affirming care for minors, or anyone else for that matter, we deserve responsible people, including the president, to bring accurate facts to that conversation. Trump brings fiction. He fans the flames and walks off the stage, and real families end up breathing the smoke.
Your Move
This snake oil bullshit is pathetic to watch, and it is dangerous. You deserve honest facts from the person who is supposed to be working for you and who holds the most powerful job on earth, so demand them out loud every time this lie gets repeated.
And while we’re both here talking about kids and school, I personally wish he would spend one ounce of the energy we see in his propaganda speeches protecting children from gun violence that follows them into their classrooms. This week another gunman walked into an elementary school, killed three kids and a teacher, and wounded two more people. That is a real danger with real bodies, and it deserves real solutions from the man who has the power to push for them.
Our kids need leaders who fight the threats that are killing them, and they deserve far better than a fake crisis peddled to a cheering crowd by a man with no dignity left to lose.

Across all four years of his first term, fact-checkers at The Washington Post documented 30,573 false or misleading claims, an average of 21 per day. The pace got worse every year, with Glenn Kessler, who writes the Post’s Fact Checker column, finding that Trump averaged six false or misleading claims a day in his first year in office, 16 a day in his second, 22 a day in his third and 39 a day in his last year. His worst single day landed on November 2, 2020, the day before Election Day, when he made 503 false or misleading claims. Daniel Dale ran his own stricter, false-only count, first at the Toronto Star, which tallied 5,276 false claims through June 2019, and later at CNN, where Dale said his count for the full term would land closer to 10,000. The second term picked up right where the first left off. CNN catalogued 100 separate false claims from the first 100 days of the second term, a list it says is not comprehensive and does not count repeats, so 100 is a floor. In February 2026, Dale identified more than 20 false or misleading claims during Trump’s State of the Union address, and in a single week this May, CNN fact-checked 28 separate false claims Trump made between Monday and Friday, again noting the list was not comprehensive. This month, a New York Times analysis found Trump has attacked the integrity of U.S. elections on more than 70 percent of the days since he returned to office, 440 days in all, repeatedly making false claims.

Anyone who believes him on this should have their sanity questioned.
Endless propaganda & fraud are standard MO for Trump & his MAGA kleptocrats.
We all pay price for Trump & Putin war machines. How much more evidence is necessary to assess that Trump & Co's epic corruption has undermined U.S. national security & is driving the US economy over a cliff for the benefit of his oligarchs & kleptocrats?
