We have a couple problems running on parallel rails. Trump can't remember when he was president and regularly faults Biden for his own shortcomings. Pelosi and Schumer were not in charge of the National Guard for DC in 2020. Trump was. He failed to support the capital police and the capital when they/it were under siege by traitorous rioters. We had multiple fail points in the House (they know who they are and the most indignant today are the most guilty) and the Senate (McConnell, Cruz, Hawley & Graham come to mind first though they had plenty of company like Johnson, Lee, Lummis & Tuberville). They let every one of us down and those that did, failed their oath of office. There is no excuse for such dereliction of duty. Jan 6 was an attempted coup. Trump tried to engineer an insurrection. That is his legacy and the legacy of the GOP along with all the lies that continue to this day. That is their legacy forever and the stains they have left can never be erased, nor should they. The pardons that continue to this day are shameful acts of cowardice. It won't happen with this Congress but the whole process of presidential pardons needs to be revisited because both parties have abused it. This further illustrates how far we have fallen and how much requires course correction if we are to survive as a constitutional federal republic with power divided among three branches.

Sure, positive change is always good but Lawrence, this isn't a "both sides" kind of thing. What's happening right now is next level. It's unprecedented. Fast forward to this morning and moving forward, my reference re the GOP is that they are far-right MAGA fascists and self-serving authoritarians who lie and gaslight hard-working Americans on a daily basis. If you notice, from the President and VP on down, every sound bite I hear is the "far-left..." and it's time to start painting them, branding them and describing them with the above description in all that we do. Repeat, repeat and repeat again.

I wholeheartedly agree. All you have to do is watch JD Vance try and answer the question about Tom Homan and $50K. Or visit some of the US government websites. The USDA is perhaps the worst (verbiage below). Others (though not all) convey similar messaging. Vance is an extremely glib liar and Trump's ME peace initiative, while welcome, was actually on the table in May, 2024, and Hamas signed off on it. Netanyahu would not. Until his position with the US government became untenable. The lies are nonstop and the verbiage is reminiscent of the senate race in 2020 in Georgia when both Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue read from the same "far left, radical, socialist" playbook in an attempt to frighten voters to vote against the Black man (Rafael Warner) and Jewish man (Jon Osoff). The entire administration is trying to normalize their recasting of reality. And Karoline Leavitt ... that is a whole separate example of lying and gaslighting on a daily basis.

"Due to the Radical Left Democrat shutdown, this government website will not be updated during the funding lapse. President Trump has made it clear he wants to keep the government open and support those who feed, fuel, and clothe the American people."
