Joseph Schnitt isn’t a name you know. He’s the Acting Deputy Chief in the Department of Justice’s Office of Enforcement Operations. He’s worked at the DOJ for 23 years, serving in various analytical and supervisory roles. His current responsibilities involve interfacing with federal law enforcement agencies and prosecutors.
That means he holds real power over sensitive cases, including surveillance and prosecutions.
What He Said On Tape
On Thursday, a hidden camera caught him talking about the Epstein files. His exact words: “They’ll redact every Republican or conservative person in those files, leave all the liberal, Democratic people in those files, and have a very slanted version of it come out.” Stop and let that sink in. A senior DOJ official saying out loud that your justice system will play politics with the names of predators connected to Jeffrey Epstein.
And it gets worse. Schnitt said about Ghislaine Maxwell: “They’re offering her something to keep her mouth shut.” He’s talking about a convicted sex trafficker, moved to an easier prison as a payoff. That’s how power protects itself. Not your kids. Not survivors. Power.

Then he describes chaos inside the DOJ: “Second-in-command at the FBI has been causing problems because he’s like ‘No, these Epstein files have to be released.’ Bondi wants whatever Trump wants. Internally, there’s a lot of conflict.” This is the kind of rot you get when politics takes over justice.
