The general content is good. I just don't see where Joseph Schnitt made any claims or commitments to protect republicans in any way. Schnitt did speculate that all republican and conservative names would be redacted and that a very slanted version is what would be released. 23 year DOJ veteran or not, he is speculating on what he thinks MIGHT happen. Respectfully, the headline is more click bait than factual imo. Schnitt does not have any factual basis for even claiming that any version will be released based on actions taken so far.
His exact words: “They’ll redact every Republican or conservative person in those files, leave all the liberal, Democratic people in those files, and have a very slanted version of it come out.” Why do you frame his comments as speculation? He's making the statement as a fact (probably to try and impress his date). But that's on him, not the rest of us. I'm not the problem Lawrence, Trump and the DOJ are.
