Hi Mitch, I've been following your posts for a while now - great work and I admire the energy that does not seem to be waning. I'm surprised you didn't reference the 3 May federal election in Australia. In early 2025 our Coalition (the right-wing Liberal Party and Nationals in coalition) lead (then) by Peter Dutton looked good in the race to win the election. That held for sometime as Dutton continued to spruik the playbook of Trump - fear, division, anger. Our Labor Party (left wing) had a very troubling start off the back of the interest rate rises over the previous 2+ years, cost-of-living crisis and so on. Fortunately, the Aussie public made a decision, probably around early April (three or so months into the campaign) that We didn't want Trump-style leadership (I use that word loosely) in our country. But Dutton doubled-down with the same old, tired rhetoric that stokes that division and anger. We were all still quite worried on election night. By the way, voting is compulsory in Australia - love it or hate it, in my opinion, it's worth it. This sees voter turnout at around 85%. Anyway, cutting to the chase, Labor Party (the left) won 94 seats and the Coalition (the right) 44. We won more than double the fascist, Trump-emulating Dutton and his team. It can be done. My fear for the US (and this is just from looking from afar) - it takes moments to destroy something and years to rebuild. Has the US got the stamina to get through all this - I hope so. Keep up the great work.
