Having enjoyed Georgia’s Golden Isles since childhood over the years, we have seen oil slicks come ashore in front of resorts and ruin visits on the shore. If Trump adds Georgia to the target list, it will be devastating to our residents, tourists, and more importantly, the shores, land, sea life, and birds. Our coast cannot survive if oil drilling is approved. This breaks my heart. Today in The New York Times- "Alaska Wilderness to Be Opened to Drilling and Mining"

The Trump administration plans to eliminate federal protections that ban drilling and mining in millions of acres of pristine Alaskan wilderness. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said the Biden administration had exceeded its authority in adding restrictions on more than half of a 23 million-acre area. It just never stops. https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/06/02/us/trump-news
