Trump Pardoned Crooks and Canceled $1.35 Billion in Fines
Victims lost justice, taxpayers lost billions, and Trump’s inner circle walked away clean
According to a blistering new report from House Judiciary Democrats, Donald Trump’s pardons cost the American people more than $1.35 billion in unpaid fines, restitution, and forfeitures.
These pardons were financial get-out-of-jail-free cards handed to convicted fraudsters, tax cheats, and violent insurrectionists. The people who owed money to victims, to the government, to us, walked away without paying a dime.
Here’s the short list of who benefited:
Trevor Milton, Nikola founder: $680 million in restitution erased
Ross Ulbricht, Silk Road creator: $184 million in forfeitures canceled
Jason Galanis, securities fraudster: $84 million wiped out
Todd & Julie Chrisley, tax fraud: $17–22 million forgiven
Lawrence Duran, Medicare fraud: $87 million evaporated
Dozens of January 6 rioters: $2.5+ million in damages nullified
This is corruption with a gold-plated pen. While average Americans grind to pay their bills, Trump erased nearly a billion and a half in debt owed by his allies and insiders, robbing victims of justice and stripping federal crime victim funds of desperately needed support. If you're still on the fence about whether elections have consequences, this is your $1.35 billion wake-up call.
