It might not be treason in the eyes of the law, the narrow definition of the term upheld by scotus, but it is certainly helping a long-term adversary of the US and several of its allies that are in an active war (real, asymmetric, hybrid, whatever you want to call it) with russia. I would expect it would be because Trump is not actively trying to undermine the country. I disagree on one point Mitch. His dealings with Putin are traitorous. Providing economic support to Putin through energy sales allows Putin to engage further with Iran whom we are directly at war. Iran gets some relief through Russian economic support allowing them to move against the U.S. In addition, it provides an avenue for Putin to have some added economic support in its fight with Ukraine. That is simply against the wishes, sentiment and laws already passed by Congress. Congress has stipulated no business with Russia that allows it to wage war with Ukraine. Trump is a traitor. He should be dealt with like any other traitor.
