Gas prices are affected by many factors, which is why - historically - I've always thought it foolish and short-sighted for American voters to fixate on that as a measure of the President's performance. Going back in time, events in the Middle East led to the energy crisis of the 1970. The COVID pandemic meanwhile, caused demand for gas to plummet, which led to oil companies' decisions to drastically cut production but when demand returned, the industry was caught flat-footed and it took time to get supplies back online. Of course, 2023-24 candidate Trump blamed then-President Biden, wrongly, for the high prices in the US, conveniently ignoring the fact that prices were high around the world.
Today's record-setting gas prices, though, are 100% the fault of now-President Trump. He and the "War" Secretary started the ill-advised war in Iran, ignoring years of analyses conducted under both Republican and Democratic administrations that said such a war would likely not succeed in changing things in Iran but would likely result in Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz. As for the President's assertion that higher gas prices is a small price to pay for ridding Iran of nuclear weapons, well, that's not happened. The multi-lateral agreement reached with Iran under the Obama Administration had us on the path to a nuclear arms-free Iran, but the #45 Trump tore up that agreement.
I'll repeat: Responsibility for today's high gas prices, as you explain MItch, are the fault of this President, who in the meantime is busy enriching himself. This is the time for Americans to relieve the frustrations they feel at the gas pump by voting this November, though ridding us of this President sooner would be nice.

Interesting, should I feel guilty, and every other small business owner, that my Crypto and other accounts have increased due to the actions of this administration?
Not to mention that, in my opinion, probably over 60% of legislators in Congress right now are too old. And too out of touch with the daily grind of people and technology advancements such as cryptocurrencies, AIn anything along that line, they'd have no idea how it even works. Half of em probably couldn't even use a web browser. If their life depended on it, we need younger people in congress and major regulations on crypto and AI
