This Isn’t the America We Were Promised

They said their new health-care plan was two weeks away. Ten years of promises. Still nothing.

They said Mexico would pay for the wall. It didn’t happen.

They called the January 6th rioters patriots and heroes and he pardoned them. The truth is simple. They broke the law. They were criminals.

They promised the Epstein files would be released. They’re lying. Coverups everywhere.

They said they were tough on crime. He’s pardoning convicted criminals every week. Some are now investing in and helping run his crypto companies.

A year ago none of us would have believed we’d wake up in a country where the government would be dictating to schools, major universities, big businesses and major news corporations what we can say, do and listen to. Yet here we are.

A year ago we didn’t imagine we’d see National Guard and military in full body armor, faces hidden, patrolling our streets. Now it’s becoming almost normal.

Over the last two years, inflation was going down. Prices were falling. America once again felt like that bright city on a hill everybody admired.

Now they’ve torn down the historic East Wing of the White House without a single public conversation. No transparency. No debate. That’s not democracy. That’s authoritarianism creeping in through the front door while everyone’s told to be quiet and look the other way.

And remind me when it suddenly became acceptable to stare Americans straight in the eye and lie to them again and again without a shred of shame.

Now? Because of him, we’re the punch-line of the world. Congrats.
