Families are grieving tonight because people they loved are never coming home.

Young girls at a school meant to be a safe place lost their lives. Hundreds, possibly thousands of others are dead. Every hour more people are put in harm’s way.

The United States is spending roughly a billion dollars a day as this unfolds. Real money. Real lives. Real consequences.

Across the Middle East, millions of people are living with fear, uncertainty, and the sound of conflict around them.

This is not political theater.

This is not content for memes on social media.

This is not something to treat like a game.

This is war.
