They Lied. Again.

Trump and Hegseth claimed victory over Iran’s nuclear program. The facts say otherwise.

Let me be crystal clear.

What we were told by President Donald Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth about the Iran strikes wasn’t just exaggerated spin. It was a straight-up lie.

They stood at podiums, posted on social media, and paraded around microphones telling you and me that Iran’s nuclear ambitions had been completely destroyed. Their words?

Donald Trump repeatedly and unequivocally said the strikes "completely and totally obliterated Iran's nuclear enrichment facilities.”

Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense, said that “Iran's nuclear ambitions have been obliterated."

But according to the Defense Intelligence Agency, that’s not what happened.

According to this classified assessment from the Defense Intelligence Agency, the very agency charged with evaluating battlefield results, the truth is a whole lot different. The U.S. dropped a series of massive bombs on three of Iran’s nuclear facilities—Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. The strikes damaged infrastructure. Sure. But did they wipe out Iran’s nuclear capabilities? No. Not even close.

The core of Iran’s nuclear program survived.

This, according to the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Let that sink in.

Some of the enriched uranium was relocated before the strikes. Centrifuges are still largely intact. The underground parts of Fordo, the real heart of the facility, weren’t destroyed. The entrance collapsed, and there was damage to surface infrastructure, but the actual guts of the operation? Still there. Still operable.

And the administration knew this. DIA didn’t issue this assessment weeks later. It was done in the immediate aftermath. Based on battle damage analysis by U.S. Central Command. Which means Trump and Hegseth either ignored it or lied about it.

Neither answer is acceptable.

In my opinion, if you knowingly mislead the public about national security, especially when you’re dangling the threat of nuclear conflict, that’s an impeachable offense. Not just because of the lie, but because of the danger. Because of the ripple effect it creates across the world. Because we’ve seen this playbook before.

I remember the weapons of mass destruction lie. I remember what that did to our credibility, our troops, and our national conscience. Iraq didn’t attack us on 9/11, yet we invaded them based on bad faith and bad intelligence. That lie cost thousands of lives and trillions of dollars. And now we’re watching the same movie, just with a different cast.

Let me put it plainly.

You cannot believe a word these guys say.

Trump made a show of strength and called it total victory. Pete Hegseth backed him up with chest-thumping declarations. They acted like the mission was over, and the nuclear threat neutralized. But according to the experts who actually reviewed the damage, Iran’s program was only delayed by a few months.

And let me remind you, those 30,000-pound bombs they bragged about dropping? They didn’t reach the target they needed to. This wasn’t surgical. This wasn’t decisive. This was a political performance disguised as national defense.

I don’t care what party you’re from. If you're reading this and you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

Because this matters. The stakes are too high to let political theater replace truth. This wasn’t just about hitting hardened targets in Iran. This was about shaping public perception in America. And they counted on you not asking too many questions.

They fed us a fantasy and hoped we’d move on before the facts came out.

Well, the facts are out now. And they tell a different story.

What the hell happened to honesty? What happened to leaders who say “We’re still assessing” when they don’t have all the answers? What happened to telling the American people the truth, even when it’s complicated?

Apparently, that doesn’t play well with Trump’s brand. And Pete Hegseth? He’s more concerned about loyalty than leadership. His statements are built for Fox soundbites, not national security briefings.

The truth is this: Iran’s nuclear program is still alive. The risk hasn’t disappeared. And the men in charge lied about it.

If you're a MAGA diehard, I doubt this will matter to you. You’ve already decided truth is optional.

But for every other American who still values integrity, this should stop you in your tracks.

Because when we can’t trust our president or our Secretary of Defense to tell the truth about military operations, what else are they lying about? What else are they hiding? And who’s going to pay the price?

Here’s the bigger picture.

This is why we have checks and balances. This is why Congress is supposed to oversee the Executive Branch. This is why war powers aren’t meant to be wielded like a sledgehammer by one man on a whim.

And yet here we are again, watching a president run wild while the GOP looks the other way.

If we want to stop this madness, we need to stop giving liars the keys to power.

That starts by taking back control in the 2026 midterms. We need to elect people who tell the truth, who understand the stakes, and who won’t sell you a fantasy just to win another news cycle.

This isn’t politics. This is national security.

And what’s happening right now?

It’s bullshit.

Let’s fix it. Let’s vote like it.
