One phrase could bear repeating: "Bias against the Law."

The book "Amusing Ourselves To Death" (predicted) foresaw the imminent dangers of what my parents called, 'the one-eyed monster' [television]. The steroid injection is all of the app's and devices thru which our society has become screen-addicted; one of the main reasons l have been intentional about reading vs watching!

Mitch could speak to the documented caselaw about movie films, theaters and even casinos that have profited - obscenely - from subliminal 'marketing strategies' they've intentionally embedded in motion-media to create [elicit] certain viewer [financial] outcomes. It's ALL highly sus... l certainly do not 'trust' anything about AI - or the blatantly greedy (broligarch) profiteers who are behind the AI movement and known, as well as the yet UNknown environmental destructive consequences. To reiterate, its ALL highly sus (to me)! I'll stick to books (and avoid mass brain control)...

Eyes rolling double on this latest reveal. I certainly hope we will see a class action of journalists of all sorts start a suit against the government of Trump for abuse of office and his heavy intent to create a fascist government with controlled media.

Richard Nash's avatar

That, in my opinion, is the issue. I believe this all stems from Trump's inability to handle criticism. He used to simply respond with a "fake news" comment or an insult. Now he treats any opposition as the enemy that has to be called out and defeated. This is more a product of his vindictiveness than part of a politically strategic plan.

How I see Trump - he’s marketing deflections. Take the pond, as an example. Disgusting as it is, it continues to draw media with each new bit rather than us demanding updates and changes on things which actually effect our nation - like war.

His abuse of office, though profound, is not being checked by the very body who is responsible to do so. Not a law written to counter-act SCOTUS, not a challenge over the laws broken. Not his unbridled in-your-face grift nor his continual attacks on free speech. Nothing Patel has done re spying on Americans is legal yet?

Somehow, I believe that should be the focus along with Todd Blanche thinking he can ignore our laws.

I think really the country knows this administration simply must be brought to an end. It’s gone far enough and it’s gone on for far too long. Congress. It’s time. It’s well past time.

WRITTEN on MY LINKED-in Re-POST:

"I have my three-Ds for this vile man and Team Treason in the 0val 0ffice: disgust, despair, determination. 😳

"The first two are self-evident for anyone still harbouring the least bit of devotion to the Republic. But . . . . 🤔

"¿Determination? 💡

"With winners like Mitch Jackson -- as rigorous in their research and intellectually honest as they are are scrappy and defiant -- we, the people, are DETERMINED to survive this dash toward dictatorship and to restore our Union to a more pefect one; once again to bring justice to the world. Thank you, good counsel. ⚖️

I just called my worthless, RetrumpliCON Congressman (#Ciscomani)'s office asking "why my taxpayer dollars are being "wasted" on paying for a "Media Offenders" page on not just my, but on EVERY American's, Constitutionally-protected First Amendment right? and asked when would I receive the "promised" [by Hayden at #Ciscomani's office on June 18th] that I would receive a "two-day response" to my June 18th call requesting "why" my taxpayer dollars were "wasted" paying for guards on a "private fight" held on the Whitehouse South lawn?

Clearly, Congressman #Ciscomani's office personnel promised I would receive a reply within two days of THAT June 18 call ... yet here we are FIVE days later, and I've not received a response to THAT call - and Maya [Ciscomani's staffer who fielded my call today "did not know" when I would hear back from #Ciscomani on either call/concern, when asked!

It's not only BEYOND BELIEVABLE, but it's also very frightening when college-educated Congress-members can't count to TWO or to FIVE...or respond accordingly to their constituents' calls and concerns regarding upholding the Constitution they SWORE to uphold and protect!!!

#VoteThemAllOut2026!

I swear, where's DOGE when they are ACTUALLY needed - like RIGHT NOW???

Fear is ugly. People need to tell the craven congressional quislings of my erstwhile Party that, as prestigious as being a Representative or Senator is, the offices are merely jobs. Stand tall and then find another, if necessary. If the Representatives Massie or Senators Flake of the World were not left to twist in the wind our institutions would be unbreakable.

Richard Nash's avatar

True. I find it amazing that they don't seem to realize that if they tolerate the unconstitutional and even dangerous behavior, they will eventually be held responsible as well as Trump. When you blindly acquiesce to the leader, you can loose more than your integrity.

Ned McDoodle's avatar

Very sad, indeed and in fact. Eventually, the rest of the world will hold us all accountable as peope did with Germany, Japan, and, now, Russia.

Unfortunately, the cult is too ignirant and to ambivalent to show any concern whatsoever, for themselves and/or certainly for their fellow HUmans. I am [almost] convinced we are living in a stepford wives-style alternative reality where AI has stealthily created a "body-snatchers" paradigm of modern amuriKKKan life devoid of any perceivable "language learning model" iterative pressures that align with truthful reality...

Sixty-two years ago, Marxist scholar, not Stalinist follower, Dr Herbet Marcuse wrote 'One Dimensional Man', in which he argued that mass production technology met basic human needs but forced a conformity, in the name of efficiency, that creates a totalitarian culture.

While '1984' ably and scarily predicted where debilitated democracies would end up, 'Fahrenheit-451' and '0ne Dimensional Man' gave readers a sense of how we would get there through enforced conformity and dumbing down the culture . . . starting with big-screen televisions.

The true test of support for a free press isn't whether it publishes stories we like—it's whether we defend its right to publish stories we don't. A free press is one of the strongest safeguards of democracy and accountability. The fourth estate must be protected.

I imagine there is also a further purpose this list serves. By cataloguing articles, posts and authors the way it does, it enables tagging of same which can then be used to feed LLMs and AI generally. Those machines will then filter according to tags and algorithms when answering questions from everyday people, enabling full control over what all citizens of all nations understand to be reliable facts when using the internet to access AI. The list, particularly due to the tip submission element, serves as a data grading method capable of instantly tagging an article or its author as false and consequently acts as a direct control on the responses ordinary people will receive in response to online queries, with those responses being formed only from input not adversely tagged by the system. So when the next COVID comes around, online searches for advice will return : Travel extensively, do not limit gathering, and drink bleach. No vaccination necessary, it's only a minor flu.

When they say knowledge is power, they're not kidding. People need unhindered access to all of it.

I want every Democrat in the House and Senate to call a press conference and denounce this tyrannical act against the Constitution of the United States.

Mitch Jackson's avatar

They already have. But there's a lot going on, and their hands are full. Also, without the power of subpoena and with the Republicans having a majority in the House and Senate, there's just not much that can be done right now. Having said that, wait until after the midterms. Changes in the air, and a lot of things will happen.
