People who hate or are angry all the time only hurt themselves by flooding all the wrong elements into their bodies and minds. Rather take the impulse to hate or anger and ask yourself: what is really forcing this emotion? Then act to work at removing the trigger, or eliminating the strident of the impulse. And then you can see clearly the work in front of you. Good luck in your endeavours!

I'm looking forward to the day when "hate loses its free ride." As a country, we'd made such progress here. There's never been a time when people couldn't choose to hate, to choose not to understand - and even embrace - the differences among us. There was a time when it was discouraged by society, and perhaps in that discouragement there was (ironically) some malice expressed toward the haters or at the very least, the haters felt as if they were being maligned. That's the space this President entered into when he rode down that escalator 10+ years ago.

Come November, we must vote to change our current trajectory. And then, we must do a better job addressing the root causes of the hate, from a place of understanding and love.
