What an inspiring essay, ¡Mitch! You say it all right here: "You might be wondering where we go from here. You might be asking yourself whether it matters. You might be thinking maybe the election was just a flash and the real struggle is tomorrow . . . Show our children that participation matters. Show the world we are awake we are alert we are Americans who care."
One line that will grab the attention of Trump's marionettists will be the conflict instigated among working people. That statement will be viewed as Marxist analysis and class envy. lt is neither. Crush the canard.🖕⛓️😠
While my politics is moderate-conservative, I would have, enthusiastically, voted for Mr Mamdani. Current challenges demand experimenting with new ideas and policies; time for perseverance, not pusillanimity.🗽⚗️⚖️
One key outcome: Mayor-elect Mamdani decisively defeated Andrew Cuomo despite the latter's intemperate attacks. Not only tasteless, but examples of desperate careerism at the public's expense.👎😳🤢
Time for the oldsters to move on from power into mentoring wisdom, if they have it. It is no longer our world. Mr Mamdani is both Muslim and Hindu; a promising background for conciliatory politics.🫱🏻🫲🏼💖🙏🏾
Hit send too soon and by error, Mitch. I feel so energized at this moment as I do following each March that takes place and finding even larger crowds gathering. You are so right about the role we all must take to bring our democracy back. I look forward to the redistricting changes that will be taking place in my state of California. Frankly, it is long overdue. I look forward to campaigning for and with a young, energetic, and highly capable woman who will be running for Congress, once more, and this time around, will most likely be heading to D.C. to better represent the needs of our community.
Watching "The Last Republican" (about Congressman Adam Kinzinger) this weekend.
