UPDATE: Court Smacks Down Trump’s Immigration Raids in L.A.
In another major blow to the Trump administration, a federal appeals court just upheld a ruling that temporarily blocks federal agents from making immigration-related arrests in the Los Angeles area without probable cause.
In a 61-page opinion, a unanimous panel from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the three judges agreed with the lower court that the arrests violated constitutional standards and appeared to target people based on race and language, such as speaking Spanish.
The judges didn’t mince words. They said the arrests lacked “reasonable suspicion” and were part of a larger “pattern of officially sanctioned behavior” that’s likely to continue without court oversight.
Of course, I expect the Trump admin to seek additional review and/or an appeal to the Supreme Court. I'll keep you updated.
Take off the masks yes- also wear a badge with your name, drive in a law enforcement vehicle and show a warrant signed by a judge. And don't hit, punch , or scream. This is the American Gestapo ! The majority of these people being round up are not criminals, but they are treating them worse than animals. This is not the country I know -what training do these ICE agents to have?Are they really bounty hunters? Do they get paid by how many people they kidnap? I am so appalled by all this but if you're reading this that doesn't mean that I want open borders of course we need to have reasonable immigration for people to legally enter. But while they're here, we have to treat them as humans and afford them to process. That's what the laws require.
