Stop Being Played: A Hard Truth for MAGA America

I am going to say this plainly because sugarcoating it has not worked. When you choose to follow lies, defend corruption, and excuse behavior that would get anyone else fired or prosecuted, you are not being loyal. You are being reckless with your own country.

You are not stupid because of where you live or how much money you make. You are not stupid because you love this country. You are acting stupid when you ignore facts that are right in front of you and cling to a story that has been proven false over and over again.

Donald Trump told you the 2020 election was stolen. Dozens of courts rejected those claims. Judges appointed by Republicans rejected those claims. His own Attorney General said there was no widespread fraud that would have changed the outcome. Yet millions of you still repeat the lie as if repetition turns fiction into truth. It does not. It turns you into a megaphone for manipulation.

You watched him pressure state officials to find votes. You heard the recording. You saw him refuse to concede. You watched the attack on the Capitol unfold in real time. You know police officers were beaten. You know people died. You know members of Congress ran for their lives. You can tell yourself it was just a protest. That does not make it so.

You defend a man who has been found liable for sexual abuse in civil court. You defend a man who has been found liable for massive financial fraud in New York. You defend a man who used his office to funnel government spending into his own properties. You defend a man who praises dictators and insults American allies. At some point loyalty stops being a virtue and becomes a weakness.

You are told the media lies. You are told the courts are corrupt. You are told federal law enforcement is weaponized. You are told elections are rigged. You are told universities are brainwashing your children. You are told public health officials are part of a secret plot. When every institution becomes the enemy, the only voice left standing is his. That is not strength. That is how cults work.

And let’s talk about the Epstein files. Millions of pages of records, flight logs, depositions, and investigative materials have been released, exposing a network of powerful people who orbited Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Yet instead of demanding full transparency and accountability across the board, too many MAGA supporting partisan voices treat it like a selective weapon, caring only when it hurts the other side.

If you truly believe in law and order, you do not protect elites because they share your politics. You demand the truth, all of it, no matter whose name appears in the documents, and you reject any effort to bury, spin, or quietly move past one of the most disturbing scandals involving wealth and power in modern American history.

You chant about freedom while supporting book bans. You talk about law and order while cheering on January 6 defendants. You say you back the police while excusing violence against officers who defended the Capitol. You claim to care about the Constitution while supporting a candidate who openly talks about using the Justice Department to punish political opponents. That is not patriotism. That is selective outrage.

You deserve better than being played.

Look at the record. Trump ran up trillions in new debt even before the pandemic. He promised to eliminate the deficit and instead increased it. He promised to build a wall that Mexico would pay for and that never happened. He promised a replacement for the Affordable Care Act and never produced one. He promised a better health plan and never delivered. He promised to drain the swamp and then staffed his administration with lobbyists, donors, convicted felons he pardoned, and family members.

He lies constantly. Fact checkers documented thousands of false or misleading statements during both of his presidencies. That is not a partisan talking point. That is a documented pattern. When you shrug and say all politicians lie, you lower the bar so far that it disappears.

You are angry about inflation and economic stress. That frustration is real. You are worried about immigration and border security. That concern is real. You are frustrated with cultural shifts that feel fast and disorienting. That emotion is real. Real emotions do not justify embracing lies or excusing authoritarian behavior.

I cannot responsibly state specific dollar amounts or identify particular board members without verified, publicly documented sources. What I can do is sharpen the argument in a way that is aggressive, pointed, and still defensible.

And then there is the crypto empire. While asking voters to trust him with the presidency, Trump and entities tied to his name pushed aggressively into digital token ventures and crypto platforms that reportedly drew substantial foreign investment to the tune of billions of dollars and generated significant revenue tied directly to his political brand. This is not a side hustle. This is monetizing political loyalty at scale.

When a candidate for the highest office in the country is simultaneously connected to speculative financial vehicles fueled by supporters and overseas capital, the conflict of interest is glaring. You cannot claim to fight corruption while building parallel revenue streams that depend on your influence, your access, and your potential return to power. At some point this stops looking like innovation and starts looking like a pay-to-play ecosystem wrapped in red, white, and blue branding.

Look, you can disagree with Democrats. You can push for conservative policies. You can fight for lower taxes or stricter immigration enforcement. None of that requires you to abandon facts or defend conduct that undermines democracy.

Everyday American voters are not stupid. You are busy. You are tired. You are trying to raise families and pay bills. That is exactly why propaganda works. It offers simple villains and simple answers. It tells you someone else is to blame. It tells you one strong man can fix it all. It feels good. It feels clear. It feels decisive.

It is also dangerous.

When you normalize attacks on the press, you weaken the watchdog that exposes corruption. When you normalize attacks on elections, you erode faith in the system that allows peaceful transfers of power. When you normalize political violence, you make it easier for the next extremist to justify crossing the line. Democracies do not collapse overnight. They erode step by step while citizens look away.

You are not powerless in this. You can demand honesty from your leaders. You can refuse to share misinformation. You can stop rewarding cruelty and chaos with applause. You can hold candidates accountable for their words and actions. You can vote based on evidence instead of emotion.

I am a lawyer. I believe in the rule of law. I believe facts matter. I believe institutions matter. I believe the Constitution matters. That belief does not belong to one party. It belongs to all of us.

If you are reading this and feel defensive, pause. Sit with that feeling. Growth starts there. You do not have to agree with every progressive policy to reject lies and corruption. You do not have to love Democrats to demand integrity from Republicans. You do not have to change your identity to change your vote.

This country is bigger than one man. It is bigger than one movement. It survives because ordinary citizens choose principle over personality.

Raise your standards. Expect more. Stop excusing behavior you would never tolerate from your own children or employees. Democracy requires effort. It requires courage. It requires you to think critically even when it is uncomfortable.

You can be conservative without being complicit. You can be patriotic without being played. The future of this country depends on everyday voters deciding that truth matters more than tribal loyalty.

Do the work. Check the facts. Hold leaders accountable. Vote like the Constitution depends on it, because it does.
