Every march, rally, chant, and sit-in says one clear thing. Power comes from the people and returns to the people when we show up. The right to assemble and speak without fear is not a footnote to American life. It is the oxygen.
When you gather in the street with neighbors and strangers, you practice the core promise of this country. No crowns. No thrones. No kings.

Why Today Matters
No Kings Day is a national day of action that calls millions of Americans to show up together. The purpose is simple. Stand for the rule of law, civil liberties, and a government that serves, not rules.
Organizers have built accessible trainings, Spanish interpretation, and ASL support so more people can participate. The plan is nationwide and local at the same time. You meet where you live, then you stand for the country you love.
The Moment We Are In

Donald Trump sits in the Oval Office for a second term. His administration has unleashed orders that erase long-standing protections and dismantled equity rules that shaped public spending and federal contracts for decades.
He has started a war against Iran and sent ICE and National Guard troops and military forces into our cities, turning American streets into stages for intimidation. He and his enablers have refused to release all of the Epstein files and hold criminals responsible for harming kids. He told Marjorie Taylor Greene that if she and others released the names in the files, his friends would get hurt.
Give me a break!
His administration treats both documented and undocumented immigrants like animals, stripping them of dignity and due process. He has turned government into a personal profit machine, orchestrating what many call the largest grift (crypto) in history.
He has hurt Americans and embarrassed our country again and again on the world stage, undermining our credibility and alliances. Courts have handed him sweeping criminal immunity for “official acts,” leaving accountability hanging by a thread. And his mass pardons for January 6 offenders sent a chilling message that political violence earns rewards, not consequences.
There are so many instances of self-dealing and harm. Again, I’ve tried to cover most of the major issues in this newsletter. Everything this criminal does is deemed by him and his cronies as official acts, signed orders, and public proclamations.
What We Are Marching For On No Kings Day
We march for so many reasons. For our own reasons.
We march to send a message. We march so every branch feels public scrutiny when power concentrates in one set of hands. We march because of an illegal war in Iran and to fight ICE. We march because MAGA Republicans are not doing their job. We march because we have a felon and adjudicated sexual predator in the Oval office. We march because mass pardons for January 6 sent the wrong signal to those who would threaten elections. We march for equal rights. We march because of Trump’s conflicts of interest and self-enrichment. We march because civil servants deserve independence, families deserve dignity, and communities deserve a voice.
Know Your Rights Before You Go
Laws vary from state to state, so check with your local officials or the ACLU for guidance. Stay safe, stay informed, and let’s protect our democracy together.
You have the right to speak, march on public sidewalks, and hold signs in public forums. Permit rules can set time, place, and manner. Police may not target your message. Film and photograph events from public places. Keep a charged phone and record interactions.
If law enforcement gives a dispersal order, ask where to exit and how to comply, then move as directed while documenting badge numbers and locations. If you are stopped, ask if you are free to leave. If the answer is yes, walk away. If the answer is no, ask, am I being detained, and ask for a lawyer. Say clearly that you do not consent to a search.
Do not resist. Do not flee. State your name and address if required by local law. Then stay silent and wait for counsel.
Safety And De-Escalation In Tense Moments
Plan your team. Go with a buddy or a small group with a shared meeting point and a post-event check-in time. Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes, weather-ready clothes, and a mask if needed for health or anonymity as permitted by local law. Pack water, snacks, a portable charger, a small first aid kit, and any personal meds.
Write a legal hotline on your arm. Keep your hands visible and your voice calm. If you see agitation, create space. Use open palms, soft eye contact, and short phrases. We are moving this way. Let us pass. We are leaving now. If someone tries to provoke, do not engage. Move your group, flag a marshal, and document.
If police use chemicals or munitions, do not rub your eyes. Flush with water or saline, then relocate to fresh air. Report injuries to medics and legal observers.
Support Others On The Street And Beyond
Scan for anyone alone, anyone overwhelmed, anyone needing language support. Pair up. Share water. Offer a mask. Keep elders and people with disabilities at the center of the group so they are not isolated.
If you speak Spanish, volunteer with organizers who are coordinating access. After the protest, help people get home. Check in on injured or detained friends. Share verified legal resources.
Donate to bail support and rights groups. Stay in touch with local coalitions so action does not end when the signs go back in the trunk.
Prepare For Nonviolent Action Together
Nonviolence is strength under pressure. Practice it. Role-play tense encounters the night before. Rehearse linking arms and moving as one. Assign a point person to track the route and a rear guard to keep the pace steady. Choose a chant leader and a de-escalation lead.
Set a press point for on-the-record comments. Keep messaging clear and focused on constitutional values. Bring signs with simple lines. No kings. Rule of law. Protect the vote. Courts, not mobs.
If counter-protesters appear, keep your group focused forward and moving. Let marshals and police manage separation.
Lawful Presence, Clear Purpose
Make your gathering lawful and visible. Check for permit needs if you plan to block streets or use amplified sound. Stay on sidewalks if no permit is available. Do not block building entrances. Do not touch private property.
Follow directions that concern safety and route. Document any rights violations and send reports to civil liberties groups after you are safe.
What We Face From Washington Today
The policies from Trump’s first term, and now again in 2025 and 2026, have real human consequences. You feel them. We all do. Some are obvious, others more subtle. That’s why I dig deep when political news breaks, and that’s why I write my Uncensored Objection Subtack.
From the illegal Iran war to ICE. From tariffs to stripping environmental protection. We see disasters happening right before our eyes.
We see federal orders rolling back DEI rules across agencies and contracting. Threats and name calling from elected leaders designed to inflame hate and cause violence are now the norm.
Equal rights, immigration and due process rights, first amendment rights and equal protection rights all feel like things of the past. Because for many, they are.
Deportation machinery has accelerated, with reports of transfers and out of country detentions that raise massive due process concerns.
The president’s full, complete and unconditional pardons of 1500+ January 6 rioters, is still unbelievable for me to think about. It’s always worth another look at the people he calls heroes and patriots.
Your Field Guide For Protesting
Before you go
Tell someone where you will be and when you will return. Charge your phone. Turn on a screen lock and disable face unlock. Pack a mask, water, snack, charger, basic first aid, and medication. Write a legal hotline on your arm. Use sunscreen and a hat.
During the protest
Stay with your buddy or group. Follow marshals. Keep hands visible. Use short clear phrases in tense moments. Document interactions with time and location. Move if ordered, then record badge numbers and instructions. Ask if you are free to leave. If detained, ask for a lawyer and stay silent after identifying yourself if required.
After the protest
Confirm everyone is home safe. Upload footage to a secure folder. Report violations to civil liberties groups. Debrief with your team and plan the next step.
Why Your Voice Changes Outcomes
Courts respond to records and arguments. Elected officials respond to organized, peaceful pressure. Media narratives respond to visible, disciplined crowds that stay on message.
When you show up in numbers with a clear story about constitutional values, you make it easier for honest public servants to act and harder for would-be kings to hide. Recent rulings and orders prove how fast policy can shift. Public presence keeps every shift under a bright light.
Talk To Your Kids About What You Are Doing
Tell them you are showing up because the Constitution belongs to everyone. Explain that peaceful protest is a civic skill, like voting and jury service. Let them help paint a sign.
Teach them to remember marshal colors, emergency meeting points, and how to find legal observers with green hats. Tell them your family stands up for neighbors. Tell them America is a promise you keep with your feet.
What To Do If You Witness Misconduct
Do not interfere. Film from a safe distance. Narrate date, time, place, and visible badge numbers. Ask other witnesses for names and contact information.
When safe, send footage to trusted legal teams. Write a short account the same day with times and locations. Preserve originals. Your record can help a court, a journalist, or an oversight office do its job.
Where To Go From Here
Stay connected to local coalitions. Attend city council and school board meetings. Track executive orders and court calendars. Support whistleblowers and independent watchdogs. Register voters and help neighbors get to the polls. Volunteer as a marshal or legal observer in future actions. AND MAKE SURE TO REGISTER AND VOTE IN THE MIDTERMS.
A free country stays free when participation becomes habit, not headline.

ICE Is Using Spy Vans That Can Track Your Phone and Other Phones Around You
Here is what you need to know.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spent more than 1.6 million of your tax dollars in under a year on surveillance vans equipped with fake cell towers designed to reach into the phones around them. Your phone, your family’s phones, your neighbors’ phones.
Public records show an award in May for $825,000 dollars to TechOps Specialty Vehicles in Maryland for Cell Site Simulator Vehicles supporting Homeland Security operations. A separate agreement from September 2024 totals $818,000 dollars, showing a standing partnership predating this year.
TechOps installs cell site simulator hardware inside these builds. These devices, often called stingrays or IMSI catchers, impersonate a cell tower and draw in nearby phones.
Once a phone connects, officers gain a more precise location fix. Some models also intercept calls, texts, and data traffic.
ICE has not answered questions on where these vans operate, what oversight applies, or whether agents always secure a warrant.
Here is the bottom line for you. Government surveillance now rolls on wheels. A van parked on your block reaches into nearby phones. Your rights require attention.
Demand clear rules. Demand warrants. Demand public reporting on use, retention, and audits. Ask local leaders to set policies protecting bystanders and requiring strict minimization.
Press for disclosures during procurement hearings and demand independent testing of these systems for collateral collection.
If you work in law, tech, or government, push for a requirement to document every activation, notify courts, and purge non target data.
If you are a parent or business owner, talk with your community about phone privacy and how these tools work.
