I can out argue every single point these stupid Trump loving judges make, having degrees in philosophy, philology, and comparative religion! --they are no linguists, and they ARE CERTAINLY NOT ANY PHILOSOPHERS!

Faulty logic and rhetorical fallicies are all the Trump bought judges have, and this is corruption, ignorance, and fascist hate all in one as a bunch of bobblehead talking points!

Though why waste my time, I'm a nobody that almost no one knows I exist! I'm sure ICE will throw me in a concentration camp eventually if these fascist monsters get their way! I've already signed up for 'THE THREE POINT FIVE PERCENT', after heading the call from Russell Ellis, aka 'Jolly Good Ginger'; I figure it's only a matter of time before I get imprisoned or killed standing up for human rights! I'm busy donating all the money I have left, before I lose everything since I'm imagining I'll be dragged away illegally having no one even know I'm gone; and I'm fighting of the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis and the consequences of breaking my neck and spine! So really, why bother, who am I convincing anyways!? 🤔😡

We are in the position we are in because we've surrendered our power at the ballot box. Only about 60% of registered voters actually vote in presidential elections, and less than 50% show up for congressional elections. I can only imagine how bad turnout is for local elections

Many of those who do vote, cast their ballots based on lies, hate, fear, greed, revenge, racism, piety, and other emotional baggage that makes them vulnerable to hucksters.

They are easy marks for racists and criminals, like the MAGA ilk.

The key to turning things around is to improve the numbers of those who show up at the polls.

Show up and vote in numbers that can't be ignored!

Disagree with this article. The actual name of the statue is Liberty Enlightening the World. The symbolism shows it is not a stationary beacon with freedom being in a set place, but an unleashed power on the move in the world. At the feet, the chains are broken and she is striving forward. Her foot is stepping out with her gown moving. Her eyes are fixed on the horizon. The torch flame flickers back. The seven points of the crown represent the seven continents.

The poem was created after the statue and is not an accurate portrayal of what the statue represents. The poem has hijacked the meaning. The statue isfreedom going out into the world. The statue is not summoning everyone to come here. It is not possible for us to be the savior of the world. Only Jesus can do that. He commanded us to "Go!" He is the only one who says "Come" if you are burdened and need rest. The statue does not invite. The afterthought poem has created the false narrative.

Agree - Robert’s court has mocked the Statue of Liberty and its very principles. I never thought I would see the day when the US is no longer a safe place for the persecuted and downtrodden. A sad day for America and a sad day for the world.

SCOTUS—THE ROBERTS COURT—IS HOPELESSLY CORRUPT.

In a partisan attempt to keep Republicans in power, SCOTUS voted to encourage red states to disenfranchise People of Color. Alito leads the corruption. Thomas voted with five White justices in favor of the racist decision.

In addition to Alito’s manipulations, and those by other corrupt Justices, Chief Justice Roberts ignores his own conflicts by failing to disclose $Millions of income from his wife’s business of suggesting lawyers for Corporations to use when trying cases before her husband and the other eight members of the Supreme Court.

SCOTUS IS HOPELESSLY CORRUPT.

Justice Alito…

Imagine if your ancestors from Italy were alive today in the US…

They speak broken English…

They don’t really speak proper Italian… they speak dialect…

They are slightly darker in hair and skin color than other Europeans…

They are working the jobs that no one else wants because this is the land of opportunity…

They are working for their children’s future…

Today, your Supreme Court would say that it’s completely legitimate to target these people…

They aren’t “true” Americans…

Why?… They don’t look or sound like Americans…

Completamente Pazzo!…

Completely Crazy…

PS…some of this did happen back in the day…

It was wrong then…

And it’s wrong now…

You have brought shame to this court…

Time to flush the court. Some of them have outlived their usefulness. Then send them to am isolated island.

The Gang of Six Rubber Stamp Committee isn't even legitimate itself. Neil Gorsuch holds the seat that belongs to Merrick Garland, and Amy Coney-Barrett holds the seat of whoever Biden would have nominated, had her nomination not been shoved through a mere two weeks before the election.

What Bitch McConnell did was perfectly legal, but >shouldn't be<. We need to rectify that, following One Big Beautiful Blue Tsunami! 🌊

We should not celebraterate our 250 Bithday. We are no longer have our democrcy.

We have a mad man like Hitler running our country.

Mitch Jackson's avatar

I certainly don't feel like celebrating. I don't respect him, his administration, or their policies. They're doing everything they can to turn America into an authoritarian state. And we're not going to let it happen on our watch. Vote in the midterms.

Trump is running a criminal terrorist regime. We like to think the US is different, an exception, but it really isn't. Fascism looks different wherever it takes hold.

Immigrants and Indians were looked at as a threat to the nation's identity THE ALIEN AND SEDITION ACTS OF 1798

In the 30s, two demagogues rose to fame. Senator Huey Long and a Catholic priest Charles Coughlin, who had a radio program and preached fascism. America has always had a fascistic leaning and now trump has given them permission to crawl out of the sewer and proudly proclaim their hatred and racism.

And trump won 2 elections, American people actually voted for him because he preached his hatred for immigrants and they allowed themselves to be conned

We have a long way to go in this country. Despite everything that's happened in the past, we need to continue moving forward one day, one vote at a time. The midterms this year are everything.

I agree! Yet.. we are not the strongest nation anymore.. we are basically bankrupt, and mismanaged.

Mitch Jackson's avatar

I'm not ready to concede that we're not the strongest nation anymore. I actually feel like we have a tremendous amount of upside potential and strength. What we need is new leadership, and that starts in the midterms.

I truly hope you are right!! Thanks!!

Too bad.

It really is. I hope you're not being sarcastic.

Absolutely not sarcasm. The high court decision is very bad, too bad.

Thank you for for your article. It's sad, but I respectfully disagree with you. Yes, elections got the congress people there, but who bought those elections? It's clear we need to get corporate money out of elections.

Justices Alito, Thomas, and Roberts are all bought and paid for. In fact, congress does have power to hold them accountable for corruption, but they won't. Why? Because they are bought and paid for by lobbyists, PACs, and donors. My evidence: Kentucky, Louisiana, Indiana, and soon to be Texas. It's not really "we the people" anymore. It's "We the Money".

Now the billionaires run the country so they can buy who they want, and they have. If we want this to change, congress has to assert their power. Hopefully, they find their spines soon before the Supreme Court and Dozy Don tears this country apart. Apparently money does buy you anything. It bought donald unaccoutability, the presidency, the Supreme Court, all of his sycophants and future sycophants in congress, and now the voters. Russell Vought wrote in Project 2025: This revolution would remain bloodless, if the left allows it. I don't believe we should "allow" it.

Mitch Jackson's avatar

Actually, it sounds like we agree on everything. For the reasons you mentioned, we're having the problems that we're having today, both in the Oval Office and at the Supreme Court. We need to get rid of Citizens United in order to restore a more balanced democracy. We also need to vote in the midterms. It's probably one of the most important elections in our lifetime.

I am reminded that a couple of months ago the border czar, Tom Homan, stated that TPS can't last forever when 600,000 Venezuelans were having their TPS reviewed. I don't know how bad it still is in that country, but that is one heck of an excuse to say that Haitians should now go back as well. Didn't know there was a time element in the TPS criteria.

The entire way they are handling this is wrong, immoral, and frankly unconstitutional. Situations and problems can be amicably resolved in win-win ways that have everyone's best interests in mind. What the Supreme Court did on Thursday isn't that solution.
