The full amount of the first case (the sexual abuse judgment, plus interest) was paid via electronic funds transfer through the Court Registry Investment System.
UPDATE (July 8, 2026) Today a federal judge ordered Trump to pay E. Jean Carroll the $5 million jury award plus interest. If you recall, a civil jury verdict found Trump had sexually abused Carroll, and that verdict was upheld on appeal and denied review by the Supreme Court of the United States of America. The funds have been deposited with the court and I expect the funds to be released forthwith. Next on the list of to-do's is the $83.3 million Trump owes Carroll in the second case.
Good for her, she is a very courageous woman, but I don't believe any magat will be swayed to change what they believe, who to believe, and how to vote.

I just finished reading E. Jean Carroll's book and I'm thrilled to hear this news!! He messed with the wrong woman when he picked her. The sad part of the this story is that she was able to fight because she has considerable financial means. The average woman would have been simply another one of his victims. This is a major problem with our justice system.
Fact: The $5 million is essentially in hand. The post trial appellate process required Trump to deposited $5.5 million into a court controlled account back in 2023, the standard 110 percent cushion. With the Supreme Court declining his appeal this morning, that case is final and that money releases to Carroll relatively quickly to the pay the judgment and interest. Any remaining balance goes back to Trump.
Is there anything more satisfying than a rapist being held to account, or more distressing than an entire political party, yes you GOP, being willing to bow down before that rapist?

So many Republicans that I know who didn't attend the trial, never read a single transcript from the trial, and never read any of the appellate transcripts continued to say it was a rigged jury. They said, "It doesn't matter. Wait for the appeal." That argument has been made over and over and over again. Well, today, the very last appeal before the highest court in the land resulted in confirming that the verdict that Trump sexually assaulted E. Jean Carroll is accurate, valid, and true. The issue is resolved and final.
One fact every single clear-minded, non-cult-driven American needs to now understand and appreciate is that we have a civilly adjudicated sexual abuser sitting in the Oval Office. That's their guy. The same guy whose name has appeared hundreds of thousands of times in the Epstein files. Just like this case, more information will be coming out over the next couple of months and even years. It's pathetic, it's embarrassing, and it's wrong.
