Saturday’s No Kings Day Isn’t About Hate. It’s About Standing Up for Hope and Democracy.
A movement fueled by love for country, faith in freedom, and the courage to speak truth when silence no longer serves.
It’s a day when Americans from every corner of the country stand shoulder to shoulder in peaceful protest, using the power of their First Amendment rights to speak up and be heard. That’s the heartbeat of democracy. And it’s something every leader, from the President and Attorney General, to the local Mayor, should be applauding, not condemning.
Instead, we’re hearing the same tired, divisive rhetoric. Trump, AG Bondi, and others are labeling No Kings Day as a “hate rally.”
Speaker Mike Johnson went on Fox News and said, “they have a ‘Hate America’ rally that’s scheduled for October 18. It’s all the pro-Hamas wing and the antifa people.” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said on Fox, “This is part of Antifa, paid protesters, it begs the question who’s funding it.”
That’s not truth. That’s fear.
We don’t “hate America.” We are not part of Hamas or whatever they think Antifa is. And nobody is paying us to show up.
In fact, everyone I know who’s peacefully protesting on Saturday, and I’m talking friends, family, and neighbors, is doing so out of love for this country. Out of faith in the idea that democracy only works when ordinary people stand up, speak up, and refuse to back down.
The truth is, this isn’t about hate. It’s about accountability. It’s about saying we’re not OK with corruption, authoritarianism, and the slow erosion of truth.
Leaders who believe in freedom should be encouraging this kind of civic action, not demonizing it.
And the fact that they’re so threatened by peaceful Americans exercising their rights tells you everything you need to know about the kind of power they’re trying to hold onto.
So on Saturday, we show up. We stand tall. We stay peaceful. We stay loud. Because silence is compliance, and we’re done staying quiet.

Day of Hate???? Nothing could be further from the truth, but I know that is not the currency with which the GOP operates. What some of these "leaders" fail to understand is that there is an extremely high level of disdain for current direction & policy. If they view that as "hate", then that is a personal failure on each and everyone that holds that position. Bullshit only flies so far and the GOP has about maxed out their credibility card.
Our constitution guarantees a peaceful demonstration. It is an opportunity to be with like-minded patriots to express our hopes for our democracy. Every time I have peacefully protested against un-American values, I have been inspired by our unity and vision for a country of freedom, not fascism. A quality of life for all Americans, liberty- not fear. The peaceful protesters have been polite, kind, sharing water, snacks, and smiles. I am a true patriot and I will attend, wearing red, white, and blue. This is what Democracy looks like!
