The problem with the press is that they have no clue how to deal with the lies and corruption. Their only concern seems to be the drama and the story. God forbid any one of them should choose to use their brain and platform to do good for the country. They might as well be covering a UFC Fight. They appear to be incapable of sorting out what is out and out misinformation and distraction from the truth.
All true Peter, but there’s another factor at play. In the White House press corps, there’s a dynamic involving staying in the administration’s good graces in exchange for seating and participation in Q&A preferences. There are also all the other social dynamics you can imagine regarding fitting in, being allowed back into the Oval Office, and getting on Air Force One. “Playing nice” gets you privileges, and right now, too many good reporters who know better are playing nice.
I’m sure they’re going to find that’s awfully shortsighted of them. They will be just as affected by the destruction of the country as the rest of the population.
