On Monday, Elon Musk called Sen. Mark Kelly a traitor on X
Just so we’re clear:
Mark Kelly is a retired U.S. Navy combat pilot who flew 39 combat missions during Operation Desert Storm.
As a NASA astronaut, he completed four space shuttle missions, including commanding Endeavour’s final flight in 2011.
After the tragic shooting of his wife, former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, he became a strong advocate for responsible gun safety laws.
He and Giffords co-founded Giffords, an organization dedicated to reducing gun violence in America.
Kelly was elected as a U.S. Senator for Arizona in 2020 and won re-election in 2022.
In the Senate, he has focused on veterans’ affairs, infrastructure, and lowering prescription drug costs.
Musk’s post and Sen Kelly’s response:
He has been a leader in advocating for American space exploration and military readiness.
His experience as an astronaut and naval officer brings a unique perspective on national security and technology policy.
He played a key role in securing funding for Arizona’s water infrastructure to combat drought and ensure sustainable water management.
As a U.S. Senator, he worked on legislation to improve border security while protecting Dreamers and migrant rights.
He successfully advocated for the CHIPS and Science Act, bringing semiconductor manufacturing jobs to Arizona.
Kelly championed increased funding for veterans’ healthcare, particularly for those exposed to toxic burn pits.
He worked to strengthen Arizona’s military bases, ensuring they remain vital to national defense.
His leadership helped secure funding for small businesses and job creation in Arizona’s rural communities.
As an astronaut, he contributed to NASA’s research on the effects of long-duration spaceflight, particularly through the Twins Study with his brother, Scott Kelly.
He has been a strong proponent of clean energy investments, pushing for policies that expand solar and renewable energy in Arizona.
Kelly played a role in securing funding for fire prevention and disaster relief to support Arizona communities affected by wildfires.
He continues to advocate for bipartisan solutions to major national issues, focusing on practical and effective policymaking.
And he continues to serve Arizona and the nation with a commitment to bipartisanship and problem-solving.
Thank you for your service, Sen Mark Kelly.
You’ve shown us what resilience looks like. Fighter pilot, astronaut, senator—each role demanding a different kind of courage, each one a lesson in persistence.
You don’t just talk about solving problems—you strap in, launch, and do the work. From defending the country to pushing the limits of space to fighting for better policies, you embody what leadership should be.
Not loud. Not performative. Just real.
That’s what heroes do. That’s what this country is all about.

Calling Senator Mark Kelly a ‘traitor’ is a desperate and baseless attack on a man who has served his country with honor. Kelly has more experience with space than Musk could ever imagine. It’s becoming clear that Trump and Musk are two evil bullies driven by hate, greed, and lies. But karma remains undefeated, and one day, they will ultimate meet their maker.
