Masked Agents, No Badges, No Names. This Is Not America.
I Never Thought I’d See Secret Police in America. Now They’re Here.
I’m asking you to feel the urgency with me. I’m asking you to be as upset as I am. I’m asking you to say, with me, no more. No more masks. No more intimidation. No more secret police tactics in the land of the free.
I’m furious this is happening in America. You should be too. Every single day we’re looking more and more like Russia, China, and North Korea. I will not sit quietly while this takes root here and neither should you.
We now have law enforcement agents in America, ICE in particular, showing up in our neighborhoods in black masks, tactical gear, and unmarked uniforms. They’re hiding their faces, refusing to identify themselves, and treating citizens like enemy combatants. These aren’t isolated cases. This is a pattern. This is organized. This is intimidation dressed up as law enforcement.
Ben Meiselas, co-founder of MeidasTouch and lecturer at USC Law, shared this video over the weekend. It captures everyday Americans filming masked ICE agents carrying out arrests. At least, we think they’re ICE, and that uncertainty is part of the problem. The footage is disturbing, but you need to see it. Agents in masks, the Trump administration behind them, trampling the Constitution and stripping our democracy of its identity. Watch it. Share it. Don’t look away.
When I watch the videos, I see agents slamming fathers to the pavement in front of their children, threatening mothers walking out of grocery stores, and dragging people away in handcuffs as neighbors film in horror. And when bystanders try to record, some of these agents point guns directly at them. Americans exercising their First Amendment right to bear witness are being threatened into silence. If that doesn’t chill you to the bone, I don’t know what will.
This isn’t about enforcing laws. This is about instilling fear. It’s about control. It’s about turning America into a place where you don’t question authority because the guy in the mask has the power to make you disappear. That’s not democracy. That’s authoritarianism.
As a lawyer, I know what real law enforcement looks like. Real policing is about transparency, accountability, and service to the community. There are lots of good cops protecting us. We have a few in our family.
But here’s the deal. These masked units aren’t serving anyone. They are hiding their identities for one reason: to avoid accountability for what they are doing. When an officer covers his face and refuses to show a badge, he’s not protecting himself from danger, he’s protecting himself from being identified when he abuses his power. That’s cowardice, not courage.
I’m speaking to you as a lawyer, husband, father and maybe someday, as a grandfather. I think about our kids and grandkids seeing this play out in their neighborhoods. What are they learning about America when masked men with guns drag people away like characters out of a dictatorship? What does that teach them about freedom, fairness, and justice? They will grow up thinking that this is normal, that this is what law enforcement looks like. And if we let that happen, we will lose something far greater than a single arrest. We will lose the soul of this country.
Trump has made all of this worse. He pardoned January 6th insurrectionists, people who attacked our Capitol, and now some of them are wearing these masks as ICE agents. We’re hearing reports of them showing open support for the Proud Boys. You’ll see this in one of the clips.
So let me be clear: these aren’t anonymous patriots protecting America. These are Trump’s people, his loyal soldiers, given the color of authority and sent into our streets to intimidate us. That should terrify you. It terrifies me.
The masks are the message. They are designed to silence you. To make you afraid to film. To make you afraid to speak out. To make you afraid to even ask who is knocking at your door. That message is spreading through neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces. People are shutting down, keeping their heads low, pretending not to see. And every time we stay silent, the intimidation grows stronger.
I want you to picture this. A child looks out the window and sees a dozen masked men tackle their neighbor on the front lawn. That image doesn’t fade. It burns into their mind. It tells them that the government is something to fear, not something to trust. It tells them that authority doesn’t have to answer to anyone. And when kids grow up with that image, they inherit fear instead of freedom.
Do not look away. Do not normalize this. Because if we do, the masks will never come off. These officers will remain nameless, faceless, and unaccountable. And one day, someone will pull the trigger. That headline will come. That funeral will come. And it won’t be the masked agent who pays the price, it will be an innocent worker, a parent, a student, maybe even your neighbor, maybe even you.
I don’t care what your politics are. This is about the kind of country we want to live in. Do you want your kids growing up in a nation where law enforcement acts like a private military force for a politician? Do you want your grandchildren to believe that due process, equal protection and freedom are just words we throw around, while their reality is fear and silence? I don’t. And I refuse to let this be the future we pass down.
You need to speak up. We all do. We need to protest in the streets. We need to show up at city halls and state capitols and demand accountability. We need to call our representatives every single day until they cannot ignore us. We need to film, even when it’s scary, because silence is surrender. And above all, we need to vote. The 2026 midterms are not just another election. They are a referendum on whether America remains a democracy or slides fully into authoritarian rule.
Trump and his enablers are using these tactics to break us down, to normalize fear, to train us to look away. We cannot give them that victory. We must meet intimidation with courage. We must meet silence with voices louder than ever. We must meet masks with demands for accountability.
This is not theoretical. This is happening in front of us right now in 2025. And if we don’t stop it, it will only spread. Masked agents today, masked judges tomorrow, masked soldiers at polling stations the day after. That’s the road we are on unless we slam on the brakes.
I’m asking you to feel the urgency with me. I’m asking you to be as upset as I am. I’m asking you to say, with me, no more. No more masks. No more intimidation. No more secret police tactics in the land of the free.
We can fix this, but only if we fight back. That means standing together, speaking loudly, refusing to stay silent. That means organizing, protesting, and showing up. That means flipping Congress in 2026 and electing leaders who will defend the Constitution instead of shredding it. It means remembering that democracy is not something handed down to us, it is something we have to defend every single day.
Our kids and grandkids are watching. The future they inherit will be decided by what we do right now.
