I Never Fell for a Single One of His Lies. Here Are Trump's Top 26.

Fun fact. I never fell for a single one of Donald Trump’s lies, and something tells me you didn’t either. Not one.

I am a trial lawyer. I have spent my career listening to people swear they are telling the truth while the evidence said something else. You learn to watch the hands, not the mouth. You learn to check the record. You learn the difference between a man who made a mistake and a man who lies to your face and dares you to believe him over your own eyes.

For more than ten years now, Donald Trump has dared all of us to do exactly that. He has asked you to trust him over the doctors, over the generals, over the courts, over the math, over your own grocery receipt. I want to walk you through twenty six of the biggest lies he told across his first term and his second. I want to show you what I saw each time, so the next time he opens his mouth, you see it too.

Read these. Sit with them. Then send this to someone you love who still has doubts.

THE LIES THAT PUT YOUR HEALTH AND YOUR FAMILY AT RISK

Lie #1: When he told you the virus would disappear, gone one day like a miracle, I listened to the CDC, I listened to doctors who had given their lives to studying this, and I watched the death counts climb in every country on earth. More than 1.2 million Americans died. The official worldwide count reached around seven million, with the true toll almost certainly higher. Hundreds of millions got sick. Miracles do not fill morgues. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #2: When he told you he was always honest with you about the danger, I listened to his own recorded voice acquired by Bob Woodward, the Washington Post journalist. Trump gave him a series of recorded interviews in early 2020 for the book “Rage.” On the tapes he called the virus “deadly stuff” in February and, in a March recording, said, “I wanted to always play it down.” Then, like the experts predicted, things got worse. Much worse. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #3: When he told you he knew more than the generals, I listened to the generals. Men and women who gave their whole lives to defending this country, who studied war so your sons and daughters would not have to die in one, said he was reckless and dangerous. I used my common sense. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #4: When he told you he would end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours, settled before he even took office, I marked the calendar. The 24 hours came and went. So did his first hundred days. More than eighteen months into his second term, the war grinds on past its fourth year, cities still burning, families still burying their dead. He later told you the 24 hour promise was only a joke. Real wars do not end on a campaign slogan. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #5:When he told you during his second election campaign that he would keep us out of new wars in the Middle East and be the president of peace, I then watched the bombs fall. In June of 2025 he ordered American bombers to hit Iran and told you the nuclear program was completely obliterated. His own intelligence assessment said the program was set back only months. Then in February of 2026 he launched a far bigger war alongside Israel, what he himself called major combat operations. American forces were still striking Iran near the Strait of Hormuz as recently as last week. The war he promised would never happen is happening right now. I did not fall for his lie.

THE LIES ABOUT YOUR MONEY

Lie #6: When he told you he would build a wall and Mexico would pay for it, I listened to the President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, say plainly that Mexico would not pay one cent. Mexico never paid. You paid. Your tax dollars paid. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #7: When he told you he would drain the swamp, I watched him fill his administration with billionaires, donors, and the lobbyists he promised to throw out. The swamp did not drain. The swamp moved into the West Wing. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #8:When he told you he was sacrificing his own fortune to serve you, when he swore he was not in it for the money, I followed the money. In his second term he turned the presidency into a cash register. His family crypto operation, World Liberty Financial, pulled in more than 1.2 billion dollars for the Trumps in sixteen months, more than his real estate empire earned in years. He launched a coin with his own name days before he took the oath and then sold a private dinner to the people who bought the most of his coin. A state backed fund from the United Arab Emirates ran a 2 billion dollar deal through his family’s stablecoin. His company kept signing deals with Gulf governments and royal families the whole time, a gold Trump tower rising in Jeddah, a Trump golf resort outside Doha built hand in hand with a Qatari government company, more towers planned for Riyadh and Dubai. Congressional investigators valued the family’s crypto holdings as high as several billion dollars. Government ethics lawyers say every modern president before him sold off his holdings or locked them in a blind trust. He did the opposite. He doubled down. A president who works for you does not get richer every time a foreign government needs a favor. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #9: When he told you foreign countries would pay his tariffs, that they were not taxes, and you would not feel a thing, I listened to economists across the political spectrum explain how tariffs actually work. American importers pay them. American families pay them at the register. Prices went up on the things in your cart. You paid his tariffs. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #10: When he told you gas, groceries, and even eggs were cheaper, I looked at the price data and I looked at my own receipts. Gas prices are at record highs. Grocery prices rose. The cost of feeding your family climbed. He told you to disbelieve your own kitchen table. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #11: When he told you a beautiful healthcare plan was coming in two weeks, I waited. Two weeks became two months. Two months became years. Years later he stood on a debate stage and admitted he only had concepts of a plan. There was never a plan. Not then or even today. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #12: When he told you he would protect Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security and never touch them, I read the bill he signed. On July 4, 2025 he put his name on the largest Medicaid cut in American history, close to a trillion dollars pulled out of the program covering poor families, disabled children, and seniors in nursing homes. The Congressional Budget Office estimated millions of Americans would lose their health coverage because of it. The same law set off automatic cuts to Medicare worth more than 500 billion dollars over the decade. He gutted the workforce at the Social Security Administration, the agency responsible for the benefits your parents earned over a lifetime of work, and the help now comes slower and harder. He promised your safety net and then shredded it. A man who wanted to protect these programs does not sign the bill gutting them. I did not fall for his lie.

THE LIES ABOUT YOUR VOTE AND YOUR DEMOCRACY

Lie #13: When he told you the 2020 election was stolen and he won in a landslide, I followed the evidence. He lost around sixty court cases. Republican election officials in his own party certified the results. His own attorney general found no fraud capable of changing the outcome. He lost. He knew he lost. He told you a lie so big it ended in an attack on your Capitol. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #14: When he told you January 6 was peaceful and a day of love, I watched the video with my own eyes. I saw officers beaten with flagpoles. I saw the mob hunting for the Vice President. Then in his second term he pardoned roughly 1,500 of those rioters, including people who assaulted police. A day of love does not send officers to the hospital. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #15: When he told you he drew the largest inauguration crowd in history, I looked at the photographs. The empty spaces on the National Mall told the truth in an instant. He sent his press secretary out to lie about a crowd size everyone present saw with their own eyes. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #16: When he told you he knew nothing about Project 2025, I read the document and then I watched his second term. He staffed his government with its authors and he started checking off its pages one by one. He knew it cold. I did not fall for his lie.

THE LIES DESIGNED TO MAKE YOU HATE YOUR NEIGHBOR

Lie #17: When he told you immigrants were the cause of all your problems, I listened to the economists and looked at the data. Undocumented immigrants paid 96.7 billion dollars in federal, state, and local taxes in a single year. They pick the food on your table and build the homes you live in. The overwhelming majority came here for the same reason your family once did, for a better life. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #18: When he told you immigrants were violent criminals poisoning the blood of the country, I looked at the crime statistics. Immigrants commit crimes at lower rates than people born here. I watched his deportation machine sweep up legal residents, longtime neighbors, and even American citizens with no record at all. The language he used has an ugly history, and I know where it leads. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #19: When he told you Democrats were your enemy and the reason for your suffering, I used my eyes and my ears. I talked to my neighbors. I found out most Republicans and most Democrats want the same simple things. A safe home. A good school. A fair shot for their kids. Turning Americans against each other is the oldest trick an authoritarian has. Divide the people and you conquer them all. I did not fall for his lie.

THE LIES HE TELLS TO PROTECT HIMSELF

Lie #20: When he told you he never slept with the adult film star Stormy Daniels, I listened to her detailed account and to his own personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, who paid her 130,000 dollars to stay quiet days before the 2016 election. A New York jury later convicted Trump on 34 felony counts for falsifying business records to hide the payment. Innocent men do not pay 130,000 dollars for silence. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #21: When he told you he never met and sexually assaulted E. Jean Carroll, called her not his type, and said she invented it to sell a book, I looked at the court record. Carroll, a longtime advice columnist, told a jury Trump forced himself on her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in 1996. In 2023 a Manhattan jury found him liable for sexually abusing her and defaming her and ordered 5 million dollars. In 2024 a second jury found his denials defamed her again and added 83.3 million. A photo from the 1980s shows them together, years before he swore he never knew her. Two juries, a federal judge, and the appeals courts all sided with her. Juries do not hand 88 million dollars to someone making it up. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #22: When he told you he barely knew Jeffrey Epstein and was never a fan, I looked at the pictures. I saw the two of them laughing together at Mar-a-Lago in 1992 while NBC cameras rolled and Ghislaine Maxwell stood in the background. I saw them side by side at the 1993 opening of the Harley Davidson Cafe, Trump with his arm around his young children. I saw the 1997 photos of them together at Mar-a-Lago. I read the flight logs putting Trump on Epstein’s private jet at least seven times. Then I read his own words from 2002, when he called Epstein a terrific guy he had known for fifteen years and said Epstein liked beautiful women as much as he did, many of them on the younger side. I read Epstein’s comments about Trump being his best friend for a decade. A man does not fly seven times with a stranger. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #23: When he told you he would release his tax returns as soon as an audit was finished, I waited. The audit excuse never ended. He never released them himself. Congress finally pried six years of them loose in 2022 and made them public over his objection. Every president for decades released theirs without a fight. He hid his for as long as the law let him. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #24: When he told you climate change was a hoax and that windmills cause cancer, I listened to scientists and to my own observations of hotter summers, bigger fires, and stronger storms. Wind turbines do not cause cancer. The planet is warming and we are warming it. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #25: When he told you he was right about a hurricane hitting Alabama and produced a map altered with a marker to prove it, I laughed and then I worried. A grown man doctored a federal weather map rather than admit a mistake. This tells you everything about the deeper lie he needs you to believe, the one where he is never wrong about anything, ever. I did not fall for his lie.

Lie #26: On January 20, 2025, Donald Trump raised his right hand and swore the same oath every president before him has taken. Here are the words.

I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Read them again. Faithfully. Preserve. Protect. Defend. The Constitution of the United States.

When he swore this oath to you, I held him to it. Then I watched what he did. He pardoned roughly 1,500 people who stormed the Capitol, including the ones who beat police officers. He ignored a federal judge who ordered deportation flights turned around, and his own lawyers told the court the order did not reach them. The Supreme Court told him to bring back a man his government had wrongly shipped to a foreign prison, and when a judge asked what he had done to comply, the answer was nothing. He turned the office itself into a stream of personal wealth, and foreign governments lined up to pay. Members of his own administration said judges who ruled against him should be removed from the bench.

This is not what faithful looks like. This is not what defending the Constitution looks like. A man who meant those words does not spend his presidency shredding them. This is the lie underneath all the others, the one he told with his hand raised and his eyes on the camera. I did not fall for his lie.

WHERE WE GO FROM HERE

Here is what all of these have in common. Every single lie asks you to surrender the one thing keeping you free, your own judgment. He needs you to trust him more than you trust the doctor, the general, the judge, the scientist, the receipt in your hand, and your own lying eyes. The day enough of us surrender our judgment is the day this stops being a democracy.

I am worried. I am worried about our kids and our grandkids inheriting a country where truth belongs to whoever shouts loudest. I am worried about our economy, our Constitution, and the friendships with allies he is burning down around the world. The damage is real and repairing it will take years.

You are not powerless. You have a voice, a vote, and a circle of people who trust you. Use all three. Talk to your family. Talk to the friend who is still on the fence. Share what you know.

I have never fallen for his lies. Neither have you, because deep down you already knew. Trust that voice. Then go use it.
