Trump banned CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House because he can’t handle their questions, and every American got locked out right along with the reporters. I’ve tried cases for 40 years and litigated First Amendment fights, so I’ll say plainly what most commentators won’t: this ban is unconstitutional, and the court will rule that way. Full stop.
The First Amendment bars the government from abridging freedom of the press, which means no president gets to hand-pick who you hear from. Fear of a question is a confession in slow motion.
