A 23-Year-Old Spoke Up for Democracy. The President Came After Him.

Harry Sisson is 23 years old. A young man with passion, conviction, and a voice. Yesterday, the President of the United States singled him out in a public video. Today, the Vice President joined in, layering on sarcasm.

Take a second and remember what it felt like to be 23. You’re finding your footing, taking risks, speaking up, and believing your voice matters. Now imagine the two most powerful people in the world using their platforms to come after you, not because you broke a law, but because you dared to support democracy.

That’s not leadership. That’s insecurity wrapped in power.

Harry carries himself with strength and clarity far beyond his years. He’ll be fine. He knows millions of us stand with him. That said, what happened to him is still completely unacceptable.

The President and Vice President work for us. They are accountable to every single citizen in this country, including the young ones who still believe that democracy means something. When they forget that, they lose the moral authority to lead.

It’s time they stop playing petty politics, get their act together, and start doing their jobs. Because right now, they’re not just embarrassing this country, they’re eroding the trust that keeps it standing.
